Our Mission

Napa Bookmine Literary Foundation believes in equal access to books for all.

Given that reading at grade level by third grade is the number one predictor of high school graduation and career success, we work to set children up for success by providing FREE books to kids, families, and teachers in our community, hosting literacy-based events, working to ensure classroom libraries feature books that reflect the diversity of their students, and more.

Books + Kids = Empowerment!

Community

We build stronger communities by investing in each other. We donate books to kids, families, and schools throughout the Valley to ensure all kids have access to the books they want to read.

Diversity

Books serve as windows to the world. We want to make sure every child can explore as many new worlds and ideas as they can, and see themselves reflected in the pages of the books they read.

Access

Everyone deserves access to books, but not everyone has the same access to books. We remove the barriers to book ownership by giving books away to kids, families, schools, and community programs for free!

Sustainability

Give old books a new life! Recycle your old books and find them a new home. We accept book donations (ages 0-18) to prevent waste and give others the opportunity to enjoy books you no longer need.

Connection

Fostering connections between children and authors brings the reading and writing process alive. We partner with authors from around the world to bring diverse stories to life in classrooms throughout the Valley.
