Early literacy is a huge indicator of success in both school and life, but not everyone has equal access to books. Studies show that 43% of adults with low literacy live in poverty and 61% of children growing up in poverty do not have access to age-appropriate books.
We remove access barriers by providing FREE books to our community!
How It Works
We believe everyone deserves equal access to books, which is why we give books away to kids, families, schools/educators, and organizations for FREE. That’s right, FREE! There are a few ways to participate in our free books program:
Attend one of our in-person community book fairs (Note: in-person events are currently on hold due to COVID-19).
Fill out this form if you are a part of a school or organization looking to get free books for your classroom or community. We will follow up with you personally to get you the books you need!
Teachers and schools can also inquire about our in-store shopping experience. (Note: in-person events are currently on hold due to COVID-19)
Host a book drive and collect used like-new and lightly used books from your friends and family to help us in our mission to provide free books to all who need them. If you’re interested in hosting a book drive, visit this page and fill out this form.
In general: we provide new, like-new, or lightly used books for children, adolescents, teens, and young adults depending on the expressed need. Free books are made possible by our generous donors.
