Napa Bookmine Literary Foundation is dedicated to providing FREE books to kids, teachers, and families in Napa County. It is our mission to make book ownership a possibility for every child in Napa. We focus on providing a mix of both new and used books featuring diverse characters in multiple languages whenever possible.
Since launching in winter 2020 we have donated 4,952 books to kids, schools, and organizations in Napa.

"The students in Room 17 were so surprised and excited about getting their books from Napa Bookmine Literary Foundation! Dylan A was thrilled to get a board book showing the work of Vincent Van Gogh, and walked around proudly with it, so happy to know about the artist and recognize his art. He said, "This is the best day of my life!", which was the statement I hear most about their new books... Except the squeals of delight. I suppose the most frequent quote would be "Squeeeeeee!" Their joy at receiving your gifts turned around the mood of this very tired teacher, and my eyes were full of happy tears.
This was the perfect time of year for these kids to get a gift of books. They just wanted to sit and read or look at their books for most of the remainder of the day.
I am so grateful to you for your kindness and generosity. For the kids to receive three or four of the same titles, and 6 books that were different from everyone else's was ideal. Yesterday I read "The Gruffalo" to them. I had so much fun, and they loved it! I think "Dragons Love Tacos" was still the favorite, though."

When I learned that most of my class had very few books to read in their home language, I asked the Napa Bookmine Literary Foundation if they could help. My students made a wish list of what books they would like to read, in the language of their choice, and the foundation graciously matched what was available with what my students wanted. “I was completely surprised by the size of the Napa Bookmine Literary Foundation’s donation of 400 books! I am so grateful to your donors for their generosity! So many of the titles you gave us were books we had that were destroyed in the fire. Some of these books were by authors that our teachers use in their lessons or themes. This is such a big help towards rebuilding our library. Because of the books you provided, I have been able to continue, uninterrupted, providing books for our classrooms as soon as we were relocated. “
