EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR | Part-time, flexible schedule, $24/hour (10 hours a week maximum)
The Napa Bookmine Literary Foundation (NBLF) is searching for a part-time Executive Director as an exciting next step for our burgeoning non-profit organization.

Napa Bookmine Literary Foundation believes in equal access to books for all and works to remove barriers to book ownership for kids and families throughout Napa County. Given that reading at grade level by third grade is the number one predictor of high school graduation and career success, NBLF works closely with local school districts and other community organizations to set children up for success by providing free books to kids, families, and teachers. In addition to giving free books, NBLF also hosts literacy-based events, works to ensure classroom libraries feature books that reflect the diversity of their students, and more.
The Executive Director plays an instrumental role in the execution of Napa Bookmine Literary Foundation’s mission. In coordination with the Board of Directors, this position is responsible for the overall strategic and operational aspects of the organization’s programs. They will also be tasked with increasing the visibility of the foundation, diversifying our funding base, expanding local partnerships, and developing a strong foundation upon which the organization can grow for years to come. The Executive Director will report directly to our Board of Directors.
Our ideal candidate:
Proven experience coordinating fundraising and volunteer programs
Knowledge of Board governance, nonprofit management, budget planning, and fiscal management
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and organize, direct, plan, and coordinate the organization’s operations and programs
Leadership skills including problem-solving, decision-making, delegation, and negotiation
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with the Board of Directors, school district administrators, local elementary schools, local businesses, and other related community groups
Strong public speaking and communication skills, both oral and written
A love and understanding of literacy and children’s education
Preferred Skills and Knowledge
College degree or equivalent work experience
Demonstrated leadership and management skills
Flexible schedule (10 working hrs/week)
Ability to multitask and work independently
Takes initiative
Creative problem-solving skills
Organized
Collaborative
Familiarity with Bloomerang or other donor software preferred, but not required
Non-profit management experience, not required but desirable
